Josie Gibson ‘clears up rumour mill’ after speculation over future on This Morning

Josie Gibson has addressed speculations regarding her future on This Morning.

In an Instagram post, the TV presenter said that many fans had lately asked her why she had quit the ITV show.

Given the widespread conjecture, the 38-year-old chose to clarify the situation.

Sharing a picture of herself on This Morning on the social media platform, the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star wrote in her caption: ‘Alreeet lovers, Just to confirm, I have not left @thismorning I keep getting asked why I’ve left, so I thought it’s easier to clear up the rumour mill on here.

‘I am eternally grateful for all your love and support and I can not thank you enough. JG #squashingrumours.’

The gossip mill may have begun churning after Josie posted on Instagram three days ago that it was her ‘final day’ hosting the programme with Dermot O’Leary.

She wrote at the time: ‘My last day with @dermotoleary tomorrow before @alisonhammond55 returns Friday.

‘Then @sianwelby takes the @thismorning reins next week. What an amazing group of ladies to share the sofa with!!!!!

‘@dermotoleary thank you for being my rock this week. You’ve been a complete star. .’

Underneath her latest post shutting down the rumours, Josie received plenty of supportive messages, including one from Big Brother winner Jordan Sangha which read: ‘Love you, Josie .’

Alison Hammond wrote: ‘Beautiful ,’ while a fan going by the name GMG added: ‘Thank god I love you on this morning.’

After numerous friends and fans reached out, Josie shared a follow-up message in the comments, which read: ‘Awww thanks Guys .’

Several others also advocated for her to have a more regular role as a permanent presenter on the show in the future.

The TV personality recently went on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and finished fourth place behind the winner, former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson.

She won the 11th season of Big Brother in 2010, and joined the This Morning team as a regular presenter in 2019.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
