Jordan Banjo had to relocate three years ago due to outrage from Diversity’s Black Lives Matter-inspired routine.

In 2020, the popular dance company returned to Britain’s Got Talent with an emotive and affecting performance that mirrored the year’s events, including George Floyd’s death and the ensuing protests.

Despite the fact that many fans sent their love and support to the performers for the routine, over 24,000 people complained about the TV moment.

Jordan, 30, was concerned for his family’s safety and had to relocate his wife and small children from their Essex home.

Enraged viewers began showing up at their home, prompting him to call the police.

‘It was really scary, I had to move house, I remember I came out one time and there was cement thrown at my car,’ he told MailOnline.

Jordan and Naomi Courts, who had baby Atreus two months ago, were living with Cassius, four, and Mayowa Angel, three, at the time.

‘There was two guys trying to climb my fence into my garden, I had to get the police,’ he recalled, adding he and his dad once scared away intruders who he saw ‘scuttling off’ into nearby fields.

He wishes he could tell his past self that ‘all will be great,’ but he was worried at the time, especially because he was abroad ‘a lot’ for business.

‘In the end, because I’m not there very much, I had to change house,’ he continued. And I took the kids and Naomi there since I didn’t feel at ease there.’

Meanwhile, Jordan previously stated that he believed the routine was’misunderstood,’ and that it was never intended to be entirely about Black Lives Matter.

‘Ash (Banjo) came to us and we were speaking about what performance we should do, how we were going to go about it,’ he told Metro.co.uk a few weeks after the performance.

‘And this is the thing that gets us the most, no one sat at home had said, “You know what, we’re doing a Blacks Live Matter performance.” We wanted to do a summary of 2020.’
