Jodie Turner-Smith is the definition of regal in the first trailer of Anne Boleyn.
The actress is starring as the lead role in the upcoming Channel 5 series, which is hitting our screens later this month.
The three-part programme follows the final few months of the Royal’s life, from her own perspective.
It charts the downfall of her relationship with King Henry VIII, as she battles to keep his attention, while also securing a future for herself and daughter, Elizabeth I.
The trailer begins with Anne (Jodie) on trial for treason, where she pleads not guilty, before scenes delve into her fractured marriage with Henry (Mark Stanley).
‘You may know the history but you don’t know her story,’ it read.

Jodie leads a stellar cast for the historical drama, with I May Destroy You’s Paapa Essiedu starring as Anne’s brother and Tudor nobleman George Boleyn, and Lola Petticrew as Jane Seymour.
Deadwater Fell’s Lynsey Miller is at the helm of the mini-series, with Eve Hedderwick Turner penning the three episodes.
Jodie recently opened up about the project, telling British Vogue: ‘I loved the script, and the humanity of the person at the centre of it.
‘It resonated with me as a story about motherhood, having just had my own child, and it highlights the many ways in which female bodies were policed and politicised, and still are.
‘In Anne’s case, whether her body worked according to the patriarchy’s demands was literally a matter of survival… There’s so much about her story that feels modern.
‘It’s one I can relate to as a Black woman, and it shows how little has changed in terms of our desire to tear down powerful women, to not let them live in their truth.’
Anne Boleyn is coming later this month to Channel 5.
