Jeff Goldblum has revealed his secret to eternal youth, and it’s actually quite simple.

The American actor made his film debut in 1974 with The Death Wish, and has since gone on to star in some of the most successful films of all time, including Jurassic Park and Independence Day.

He’s also acted in films ranging from The Grand Budapest Hotel to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok in recent years.

Now that he’s 70, he’s been asked what it is that keeps him looking so wonderful, but his answer was not the Hollywood regime you might anticipate.

‘I have no secret. I live nicely. I like to sleep and try to eat reasonably. I love 8 hours [of sleep],’ he said.

‘I topped it off with a nap today. If your body needs it, sleep, sleep, sleep,’ he added when appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, which airs this weekend.

His two children, ages eight and six, surely keep the actor young.

When asked if his children know what he does, Jeff expressed scepticism.

‘I don’t think so. Who knows what they’re thinking of or what they become aware of? I did this dinosaur [shoot] recently here in Pinewood Studios,’ he explained.

‘We brought them to the studio; they saw me in scenes… they sort of know what that is. They are natural actors, they really are.

‘I don’t remember playing all day and having that wild imagination they seem to.’

He also stated that he and his wife, Canadian Olympic rhythmic gymnast Emilie Livingston, 40, kept their children primarily away from screens.

‘We’ve shown them some Chaplin shorts,’ he added.

When solicited for photos by admirers while out with his children, he explained that he didn’t think they understood the concept of his celebrity.

‘At first, they’re like, “Dada, how does he know you? Why do they want a picture?” Then they kind of get the idea a little bit. Sometimes they’re happy to be part of the picture, sometimes they’re annoyed by it. I don’t know if they know, I don’t know what they know,’ he said.

Jeff reconnected with his Jurassic Park co-stars Laura Dern and Sam Neill for Jurassic World 3: Dominion last year, but admitted that watching the film had left him in tears.

‘I’ve gotta tell you, I saw it for the second time last night on an Imax screen. I was like this the whole time,’ clutching his chest with his hand when he appeared on The One Show.

He went on to say that his heart was in his throat and that he “jumped out of my skin more times than I ever have at a movie” and was “weepy.”

The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday at 9.40pm on ITV.
