Jeff Brazier is one pleased father right now, praising his son Bobby for auditioning for Strictly Come Dancing.
After former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach and Paralympic champion Jody Cundy were also unveiled, it was confirmed that the 20-year-old will compete in this year’s challenge on the BBC series.
‘I’m so delighted to be part of the Strictly line-up, I can’t wait to start practising like a professional dancer and adding a few moves to my toolbox,’ said the oldest son of Jade Goody and Jeff, who portrays Freddie Slater on the serial.
‘I’m excited to perform in front of everyone; it’s going to be a lot of fun!’
Following the announcement, Jeff retweeted the social media post with the caption, ‘Go on the lad. ‘I’m proud of you,’ she said, followed by a red heart emoji.
Speaking about he think his son will do on the dance show, he told the Mirror: ‘I have no doubt he’ll impress people with his politeness and his manners.
‘He has a really beautiful nature, he makes you feel good – that’s his gift. I can’t wait to see him share it with everybody else.’
Jeff Brazier dated the late Jade Goody for two years beginning in 2002. During their brief relationship, the TV host and Big Brother star had kids Bobby and Freddie, who are now 18 years old.
Bobby’s casting on Strictly was announced on BBC Breakfast on Tuesday, with the child grinning as he was introduced on camera.
In the 2023 Strictly lineup, he joins Amanda Abbington, Angela Rippon, Layton Williams, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Eddie Kadi, Angela Scanlon, Zara McDermott, Adam Thomas, Nikita Kanda, Ellie and Jody.
