Jedward rocked their ‘Sinead O’Connor’ shaved heads and commemorated their mother after helping raise more than £3million for the Irish Cancer Society.
The 29-year-old twins, John and Edward Grimes, have become known for their iconic quiffs, but shaved them off as part of a Daffodil Day charity drive on RTE’s The Late Late Show four days ago.
The stunt went viral and sent donations through the roof for cancer research, and they’ve now celebrated their achievement and what their mum, Susanna Condron, meant to them.
Speaking to Sky News today, the pair said: ‘It was a monumental moment for us. This is the first time we’ve had our hair like this since the beginning. We’re rocking the Sinead O’Connor for the viewers. It’s extra aerodynamic.
‘We’ve been doing a lot of running in lockdown so it’s been perfect for that. A lot of people get cancer and who knows what the future holds for anyone.
‘We’ve all got to stay strong, there’s a sense of community to come together to raise the money.’

Susanna died in 2019 from cancer, leading the pair to say they had been ‘on a journey’ to grow up, as she also worked as their manager throughout their career.
‘She was our biggest fan, supportive and wanted us to go out there and express ourselves,’ they said.
‘She never wanted us to be nervous or scared so that’s what we’ve been doing.
‘It felt like everyone gave us a big hug virtually because we had a good sense of community.’
Joking they now looked like Sinead O’Connor, they then started singing her hit Nothing Compares 2U in her honour.
