Following in his father’s culinary footsteps, Jamie Oliver’s 12-year-old son, Buddy, is making his mark with news of his very own cooking show.
At just 24, Jamie Oliver made his debut on “The Naked Chef” in 1999, a show that marked the beginning of his journey in the culinary world. Since then, he has appeared in over 60 more culinary endeavors.
Now, it appears that the Oliver legacy continues, with Buddy Oliver reportedly joining the ranks of budding chefs with a new series on BBC.
Having garnered success with his YouTube series “Cooking Buddies,” Jamie’s eldest son is set to teach other kids how to whip up delectable dishes.
According to a source, “Buddy has taken all of his dad’s experience on board and is about to put it into play with his own cookery show. He’s already had great success with content on YouTube and Instagram.
Fans of Jamie Oliver have long been anticipating Buddy’s debut on their screens. With 133,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, Buddy will not be alone in his culinary adventures, as he’ll be joined by fellow young chefs.
The source elaborated, “The series will see Buddy joined in the kitchen by other children as he teaches recipes and gives helpful tips to youngsters on how to get started with cooking.”
This project will be Buddy’s chance to shine independently, separate from his famous father’s shadow.
The source emphasized, “Buddy is the star of the show. Jamie is keen for his son to prove himself to telly audiences, not just live off the family name. So Buddy’s got to showcase his technical skills and presenting ability.
But if his YouTube work is anything to go by, it’ll be natural for him.”
Earlier this year, Jamie Oliver voiced his perspective on Buddy’s cooking abilities, emphasizing his desire for his son to “earn his trade” rather than simply relying on nepotism.
He noted that while Buddy still has time to decide on his career path, his culinary skills have been steadily developing. At the age of 10, Buddy impressively filleted a mackerel, showcasing his cooking prowess.
Jamie Oliver, 47, shares his life with wife Jools, 48, and their children: Poppy, 21, Daisy, 20, Petal, 14, Buddy, 12, and River, six.
