Jacqui Smith has figured out why she was the first celebrity voted off Strictly Come Dancing – her ’t*ts weren’t sufficiently out’.
The former Home Secretary and her partner Anton Du Beke became the first couple to leave the competition on Sunday night, after her samba to Tom Jones’ Help Yourself failed to impress.
The 58-year-old has blamed her posture for her low scores, after Anton, 54, gave her some novel advice.
Speaking to The Mirror, Jacqui said: ‘“T*ts out, t*ts out, t*ts out” – that’s what Anton had told me.
‘That’s sort of been the theme… The problem with my samba was my t*ts were not sufficiently out.’
Jacqui and Anton found themselves at the bottom of the leaderboard when their scores for their samba and their week one foxtrot were combined.
And the former politician admitted that she found Craig Revel Horwood’s critiques ‘difficult’, despite considering herself to be ‘tough’.
Saying that Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse complimented her on things she got right and the ways she improved, Jacqui said: ‘Craig was slightly more focused on how far I hadn’t come…
‘But it’s Strictly, it’s fabulous, it’s not the end of the world, nobody died.’
Jacqui and Anton faced off against Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer in the dance-off, but were unanimously given the boot.
However, there’s no bad blood, with Jacqui saying on Sunday night’s results show: ‘I had the greatest adventure it’s possible to imagine.
‘I’m just sorry I can’t continue it with this man who has been absolutely fantastic and gorgeous to be with. But I don’t feel too much shame in losing to these guys because they are a fantastic bunch of dancers, they really are.’
This weekend will see Movie Week hit the Strictly dancefloor, with the couples dancing to songs from The Simpsons Movie, Star Wars and Frozen 2.
And the show will look a bit different – and not just because of all the costumes.
Strictly has been forced to ditch its already reduced audience entirely, after Boris Johnson introduced new lockdown restrictions, to begin on Thursday.
The show has already introduced restrictions to keep the cast and crew safe from Covid-19, including the professional dancers forming bubbles.
