I’m a Star…I Need to Get Out of Here! Harry Garside, who appeared on the show, was detained barely minutes after returning to Australia.
The Olympic boxer competed in the most current season of the Australian edition of the reality show, which concluded last week.
Former netballer Liz Ellis won the tournament, with Garside coming in second and Below Deck star Aesha Scott coming in third.
Garside, 25, was detained at Sydney International Airport upon his return home after police initiated an inquiry into accusations of an incident involving a 32-year-old lady.
NSW Police told Metro.co.uk in a statement that the investigation into the alleged March 1 assault began last month.
‘Following inquiries, a 25-year-old man was arrested at Sydney International Airport about 2.40pm on Tuesday,’ it said.
‘He was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with common assault (domestic violence).’
He was given conditional bail and will appear in court later this month.
Following his flight from Johannesburg, the boxer was apprehended.
The Australian version of I’m A Celebrity is shot in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, on the same set as the current season of I’m A Celebrity South Africa.
Garside is said to have been travelling with his father, who was allowed to continue though customs to collect his bags, but his son was ‘escorted by two NSW Police detectives and two Australian Federal Police officers to a waiting car’ as reported by the Daily Mail.
On Monday Garside shared a photo on a flight with his father, writing that he had to ‘upgrade my best mate to business with me’.
‘Money comes and goes, memories with loved ones last forever.’

‘Can’t wait to touch down in the best country on earth again. Bring on the journey to Paris 2024.’
The Australian Olympic bronze medalist in men’s lightweight boxing has won seven Australian national boxing championships.
He plans to participate for Australia in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
