Giovanna Fletcher, the winner of the 2020 series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has said she feels ‘thrilled’ to be at home with her family in an emotional Instagram post.
On Friday evening, podcaster and author Giovanna became the first ever Queen of the Castle on I’m A Celebrity, beating radio DJ Jordan North and television presenter Vernon Kay in the final.
Giovanna, 35, has undoubtedly been waiting excitedly for the moment she would be reunited with her husband, McFly musician Tom Fletcher, and their three sons.
In a post shared on her Instagram profile, the first she’s shared since leaving Gwrych Castle in Wales, Giovanna thanked all those who offered her support and paid homage to all the individuals who worked on the show.
She also shared a picture of herself embracing her children, her crown and sceptre discarded on the floor.
‘Mumma Gi here and I’m thrilled to say I’m home with my boys and Tom and soaking up all the kisses and cuddles I’ve missed,’ she wrote in the caption.
‘They’ve been extremely excited to talk to me about all the trials, wear my crown (they think they’re now Princes and that we’re moving into the castle), and then make me watch their new favourite show… @imacelebrity.’
Giovanna recalled walking into the castle three weeks ago ‘straight into the arms of 11 wonderful humans for what felt like the most uplifting, hilarious and emotional camping trip of all time’.
The Queen of the Castle described the act of ‘stepping out of your comfort zone’ as ‘a scary but amazing thing’, paying homage to her 11 fellow celebrity contestants on the programme.
‘It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours and I can’t thank everyone enough for all the support – whether you’ve watched along and laughed (and cried) with us, commented or voted,’ she said, adding that she’s had a ‘total blast’.
Giovanna included a shout-out to co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly ‘for being complete and utter legends – even when making me eat a bull’s penis’.
She also paid tribute to everyone who worked on the production and made it ‘so special’.
To conclude her message, Giovanna shared a loving message dedicated to her husband Tom, saying that she loves him ‘so much’ and is grateful for his ‘endless love and support’.
‘Big love, your Queen of the Castle,’ she added.
Before their reunion, Tom excitedly shared the moment he and Giovanna spoke on the phone for the first time since she left the castle.
‘The first time speaking to my Queen!’ he wrote on his Instagram Story, which revealed that he has Giovanna saved in his phone as ‘Gi Wife Fletcher’.
