Shane Richie came under fire from I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! viewers as he appeared to mock Russell Watson after he took part in a Bushtucker Trial.

During tonight’s episode, the opera singer volunteered to do his first solo trial titled, Rancid Rotisserie.

And, to fair, it was pretty rancid.

In the challenge, Russell had to answer a round of general knowledge questions, and for each question he got right, he got a star for camp.

But, it wasn’t as straight forward as that, because at the same time he was strapped to a rotisserie and spun through a rather grim batter.

After winning five stars for his campmates, Russell went back to the castle tell them all about it.

However, in the Telegraph afterwards, Shane accused Russell of ‘milking it’ as he proceeded to do an impression of him singing – and it didn’t go down well with some viewers.

‘He wanted to milk it,’ Shane began.

‘He wasn’t gonna come in and tell us how many stars he won and what it was.’

One tweeted: ‘Shane is soooo bloody b****y, get him out.’

Another said: ‘Oof that was a bit of a harsh dig at Russell.’

While one added: ‘Oh b****y Shane.’

‘Shane’s got a cheek on about Russell telling the tale about his trial, he ought to cast his mind back a few days….pot, kettle,’ another tweeted.

Other viewers saw the funny side of Shane’s impression of Russell, as one commented: ‘Shane Richie’s impersonation of Russell Watson was hilarious.’

Another said: ‘Why’s everyone so mad about Shane impersonating Russell?’

It’s not the first time that Shane has been criticised by viewers.

Last week, the former soap star came under fire after he clashed with AJ Pritchard over camp chores.

He and Vernon Kay also angered viewers with their comments about Jordan North and Jessica Plummer being scared during trials.

Shane’s son Shane Nolan has since stepped into defend his dad ‘s behaviour.

‘Yes that’s right folks, my dads human and isn’t a cheeky chappy 24/7,’ he penned.

‘Christ some of the comments on here making him looking like the devil sad b*stards #ImACeleb.’ (sic)
