Homes Under The Hammer has allegedly changed its presenter lineup.

The BBC property programme has reportedly replaced Tommy Walsh, 67, who has hosted since 2021, with former weather presenter Owain Wyn Evans, 39.

According to a source, the adjustments were made to Homes Under The Hammer because producers wanted to give it a’makeover’ to ‘keep younger people engaged.’

Tommy apparently shot his final scenes last year, while Owain, who was previously linked to Strictly Come Dancing, has already began filming the popular DIY show.

According to an insider, the bosses wanted to change things up to keep younger people engaged.

‘They have been keen to get Owain onto one of their popular shows for a while — he will add a new dynamic.

They continued to The Sun: ‘The upcoming series will feature both Tommy and Owain as there is a three-month lag with the house makeovers, so there is some crossover.’

Tommy is a builder by trade who rose to prominence after starring alongside Alan Titchmarsh on the BBC gardening show Ground Force from 1997 to 2005.

His other television roles include Flip That House with Tommy Walsh, Celebrity Fit Club, Fix Your House for Free, and The Reclaimers.

Meanwhile, Owain presented the weather on BBC Look North, North West Tonight, and BBC Breakfast.

He now hosts a BBC Radio 2 show and is a regular correspondent for the magazine and talk show The One Show.

Owain’s other TV appearances include S4C TV programme Iaith ar Daith, when he accompanied Carol Vorderman on a tour of Wales and taught her to speak Welsh.

He has appeared as a celebrity guest on Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel and co-presented BBC’s New Year’s Eve show The Big New Year’s In with Maya Jama and Paddy McGuinness.

In 2022, Owain took part in the reality competition series Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Lee Mack.

Homes Under The Hammer has been on the air since 2003, and the show recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with a special edition featuring The One Show presenter Alex Jones.

Speaking on the milestone, OG host Martin Roberts said: ‘Who would have thought back in 2003 when I uttered those immortal lines “Let’s find out what happened when it went under the hammer” for the first time, that I’d still be saying them 20 years on? But I am.

‘I’m so very proud to have been part of this much-loved show that’s been bringing entertainment and inspiration to viewers for a spectacularly long time.’

Homes Under the Hammer next airs tomorrow at 11.30am on BBC One and iPlayer.
