As the show began on Monday, Holly Willoughby and Dermot O’Leary paid an emotional tribute to late This Morning performer Matty Lock.
The presenting pair took a minute early in the broadcast to honour the late politician and campaigner following his terrible death at the age of 19.
Lock had been on the ITV daytime show, evaluating vacuum cleaners and revealing his love of them, which began when he was two years old and received his first toy Henry hoover.
‘He was a much loved member of our team who never failed to bring joy and warmth to our studio,’ Holly told viewers. ‘With an infectious passion for gadgets and technology, it was truly unique.’
‘Bless him, his love of vacuum cleaners started when he was just two years old, he received his first toy Henry,’ Dermot added. ‘He went onto become a politician, a campaigner and a much loved member of the show.
‘He was a lovely guy.’

Holly continued: ‘Matty will be missed by all of us here, and we extend our deepest condolences to his family.’
Lock sold about 300 vacuums to cleaning businesses, private houses, and his instructors while he was just 13 years old in 2018.
The official This Morning website said on social media that the team is’shocked’ by his abrupt demise.

Alongside a photo of him on the programme with the dates 2004-2023, they wrote: ‘Everyone at This Morning is shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Matty Lock, aged just 19.
‘He was a delightful young man, a joy to work with and his passion for vacuum cleaners and general mechanics was infectious.
