On Bridgerton, Holly Willoughby made a bawdy joke about Regé-Jean Page’s character while sharing sex recommendations.
In an honest new piece on her Gwyneth Paltrow style wellness blog and company Wylde Moon, the 42-year-old This Morning host discussed orgasms.
The Dancing On Ice host talked on the fear and frustration of not climaxing when having sex, saying that it might feel like ‘we’re always surrounded with TV shows, film sequences, and stories of everyone having a beautiful sex life.’
‘When a show or a film has a scripted sex scene with a straight couple, all it seems to take is a man unzipping his fly for a woman to start feeling herself in the throes of orgasm (which, to be fair, could be a reasonable representation of s***ging the Duke from Bridgerton…),’ she continued.
‘Jokes aside, all these gasping women don’t do much to comfort folks who find it difficult to climax.’
Holly advised individuals to avoid putting pressure on themselves in the bedroom, to avoid faking climax, and to explore their own bodies through masturbation and sex toys.
She summed up: ‘Orgasm anxiety is a common issue, but it’s important to remember that there is no right or wrong way to experience pleasure during sex.
‘Whether or not you reach orgasm, what matters most is that you’re enjoying yourself and connecting with your partner.’
Holly recently celebrated 16 years of marriage with Dan Baldwin, 48, whom she married on August 4, 2007 in a romantic Amberley Castle wedding.
The couple, who have three children, Harry, Belle, and Chester, attribute their long-term relationship to making time for each other despite their demanding schedules.
Holly previously said: ‘[My wisdom] would have to be remembering to carve out real time for each other within the madness of everyday life; everything from making time to talk over dinner at home to date nights. Whatever you do to keep the spark alive, keep it up!’
The couple’s courtship is notoriously discreet, although Holly recently made a cheeky remark on TV about a chat-up line Dan tried on her back in the day.
‘Can you remember Dan’s first opening line or gambit?’, she was asked by co-host Craig Doyle as they discussed chat-up lines on This Morning.
‘I actually do, but it’s not for morning telly,’ Holly admitted, causing everyone to chuckle.
‘It wasn’t really rude, but it was a little bit naughty, so not for morning telly,’ she added.
Holly will return to This Morning in early September after spending the summer in Portugal with her family. She will be joined by co-host Alison Hammond for the first two programmes.
