Holly Willoughby is apparently postponing her Dancing On Ice decision until after she spends Christmas with her family.
The 42-year-old former This Morning host announced her departure from the ITV daytime show earlier this year, calling it a “difficult goodbye.”
She is yet to announce whether she will return to Dancing On Ice, with new rumours claiming that Stephen Mulhern has taken Phillip Schofield‘s spot on the show.
Schofield, 61, resigned from This Morning and ITV in full after confessing his ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair, with his replacement still to be announced.
Holly was claimed to be ‘in a great state’ about her choice to return to the competition, which is set to begin in just a few weeks, with the line-up already confirmed.
A source has now claimed that Holly is ‘not rushing to make a decision and is putting it to the side for now to enjoy the festive period with her children.’
The insider added to The Sun: ‘Holly is expected to make her decision in the new year.’
It was previously stated that the mother-of-three was confronted with “the most difficult decision” about remaining in the post, and that if she opted to leave now, it may mean the end of her live broadcasting days.
An insider previously told the publication: ‘With what Holly has been faced with in the past few months, that is a hard commitment to make. She’s worried, she’s terrified and it is absolutely awful for her.’
Holly has yet to comment on whether she would return to other presenting duties following her appearance on This Morning for the first time since leaving the show.
She departed a few weeks after Schofield, after it was discovered that she was the intended target of an alleged attempt to abduct and murder her, and has since kept a low profile.
According to reports, the actress is ‘not in a good place’ as she deals with the fallout from the alleged kidnapping attempt, with security guard Gavin Plumb, 36, recently pleaded not guilty to the accusations.
The defendant is accused of recruiting a third person to fly to the UK to commit the alleged crimes, and he was reportedly found with ‘weapons’ and a’restraint kit’.
He has been denied bail and has a trial date set for June 24 of next year.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV, and Dancing On Ice returns in 2024.
