Following accusations of a “friendship feud,” Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield returned for another episode of This Morning.
The ITV daytime programme began on Tuesday with the duo outlining the day’s agenda, and Holly even showed off her floral attire in honour of the warm weather.
Similarly to yesterday’s programme, the hosts later sat down with TV personality Matthew Wright to discuss the day’s top news topics.
Reports of a rift between Holly, 42, and Phillip, 61, surfaced last week, with insiders alleging that the two are not on good terms behind closed doors, despite their deteriorating relationship.
Phillip, according to sources, has grown ‘increasingly reclusive’ as a result of the rumours.
A source told the Mirror ‘[He is] almost a shell of himself. He seems down and spends a lot of time in his dressing room. We’re worried about him.’
In a statement released with The Sun last week, Phil sought to dismiss claims of a rift and lavished admiration on Holly.
‘As I have said before, Holly is my rock,’ he said. ‘We’re the best of friends – as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.
‘Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her.
‘The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us.’
Phil’s comments was reported to have ‘blindsided’ Holly, who had no idea he was going to speak about their connection.
This Morning executives are also said to be in crisis discussions over Phil’s future on the show due to worries about his falling popularity with viewers.
Holly and Phil have co-hosted This Morning for 14 years.
They originally appeared on the famous show together in 2009 and have since gone on to become one of the most popular duos on British television.
