The recently released teaser video for Paramount Plus’ upcoming Fatal Attraction series gives viewers a taste of what to anticipate.

The streaming service in the UK will launch the remake of the famous 1987 film starring Glenn Close and Michael Douglas on Monday, May 1.

The first two episodes will be available for instant viewing, with more episodes following on Mondays.

Mean Girls’ Lizzy Caplan will play Alex Forrest in the series, a woman who refuses to be ignored as she pursues a married guy after a short romance.

The Good Wife’s Amanda Peet will portray aggrieved wife Beth Gallagher, while Dawson’s Creek’s Joshua Jackson will play married man Dan Gallagher.

Burt Bulos, Vanessa Martinez, Gary Perez, Tiago Roberts, Theo Wilson, Jesse Mackey, Anthony L. Fernandez, and Michelle Twarowska round out the cast.

The series’ first trailer depicts a ‘rabbit boiler.’ Alex and Dan are having a heated discussion in an elevator about what would happen if Dan touched ‘the big red button’ within.

The caravan then cuts to different scenarios between them, including a sexual rendezvous and a loved-up walk through the rain.

When we see multiple close-ups of Dan deep in meditation, something doesn’t seem right.

The caravan concludes with Alex standing at Dan’s house, speaking with his wife Beth, who is oblivious of the couple’s connection.

Beth introduces the couple before Alex reminds her ominously that they already know each other, and the caravan ends before we find out if she confesses their affair.

According to a post on the show’s official Twitter page, a complete teaser trailer will be released today.

Speaking about the series to WhatToWatch, showrunner Alexander Cunningham said the show will be going in a ‘slightly different’ direction to the original film.

‘This reimagining of Fatal Attraction shared a lot with the iconic original film, but it also is about entitlement, midlife crisis, and how some of the sausage gets made in our broken justice system, personality disorders, isolation, father and daughters and murder,’ he said.

‘It’s about how some people just can’t take a win. It’s about self-image and what we’ll do to protect it. And also what happens when someone doesn’t have one. And if we’ve done our job, I think that your sympathies will shift more than once.’

Fatal Attraction will be released on Paramount Plus in the UK on Monday, May 1.
