‘He’s ghosted her!’ Good Morning Britain viewers tear into Johnson after he delays Susanna Reid interview

Good Morning Britain viewers were baffled today when Boris Johnson still managed to run late for his interview with Susanna Reid after leaving the show hanging for five years.

The Prime Minister finally appeared on Good Morning Britain for the first time since he hid from Susanna and her then co-host Piers Morgan by running into a fridge.

It was remarkable scenes.

Well, it appears he was still entering today’s interview with trepidation, running 15 minutes late when he was due to face Susanna at 8.15am.

GMB viewers weren’t happy about it, with some teasing Susanna had been ‘ghosted’.

‘I thought the Susanna & #BorisJohnson interview started at 8.15 am? Nonsense started already,’ mocked another angry viewer, which was echoed by another concerned audience member who tweeted: ‘#GMB #GoodMorningBritain #BorisJohnson interview now begins at 8.30 am? Hope Susanna gets at least one question out before show ends at 9 am.’

Eventually, Mr Johnson did turn up and Susanna opened the segment with a suitably savage take down.

‘This is the interview we have waited 1791 days for, and couldn’t come at a better time,’ she began.

‘It’s a crucial week as voters prepare to have their say in Thursday’s elections. I’m here live in Downing Street’s study with Boris Johnson before he addresses the Ukrainian parliament, the first world leader to do so since Russia’s invasion, but at home troubles are mounting.

‘There are claims of sexism in Parliament, party-gate investigations continue and there is a rising cost of living crisis. Prime Minister, we have a lot to get through.’

And it didn’t get much easier for the PM after that.

Susanna left Mr Johnson squirming as she asked him ‘are you honest?’ and brutally interrogated him on the extraordinary rising costs, party-gate and sexism pouring out of his own party.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
