Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Helen Skelton is apparently being considered for the role of It Takes Two.
The Countryfile host, 39, advanced to the finals with pro dancer Gorka Marquez last year, and it appears she will return to the ballroom in the coming season.
Rylan Clark, who has been hosting with Janette Manrara and Zoe Ball for four years, declared on Wednesday that “it’s time to hang up my glittery jacket and say goodbye.”
‘After four amazing years, it’s time for me to hang up my sparkly jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two,’ the 34-year-old said in a statement.
‘I’ve had the best time hosting the show alongside Janette and Zoe and I can’t thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show.’
According to reports, Helen is the frontrunner to replace Rylan, with a source sharing: ‘Not only is Helen a very experienced and popular presenter, she captured Strictly fans last year with her warmth and charisma.’
The insider added to the Mirror: ‘She was also a hit with the team, from the top bosses to the make-up teams, production and the crew. The pro dancers all know her and as a former contestant, she knows what the celebrities are going through. It seems like she could be a perfect fit for us.’
Rylan joined the BBC Two team-time show alongside former Strictly pro Janette in 2019.

‘Rylan will always be part of the Strictly family of course, but I know he‘ll be hugely missed by all the Strictly It Takes Two viewers, Janette and everyone else who works on the show.’
The broadcaster stated that a successor will be announced soon.
It Takes Two returns to BBC Two later this year.
