The second season of Netflix’s Heartstopper will premiere in just over two weeks, and the newest cast members have been revealed for the first time.
We’ll meet more family members of the primary character, Nick Nelson, played by Kit Connor, in the latest installment of the lovely season that focuses on conveying LGBTQ+ tales.
Last year, we saw rugby player Nick fall for Charlie Spring, played by Joe Locke, while simultaneously navigating school.
Nick felt ready to inform his mother, Sarah, played by the renowned Olivia Colman, about his sexuality as he welcomed the new romance. She was extremely supportive in the touching situations, putting a worried Nick at rest.
Things may not continue to be as simple as brother David and father Stephane, portrayed by Jack Barton and Call my Agent! Thibault de Montalembert is a French actor.
The guys in Heartstopper’s family are less comforting in the Alice Oseman online comic/graphic novel on which it is based.
David is difficult to his brother, which only worsens when he finds their connection. They aren’t as close as they might be because Dad Stephane resides in France.
Mr. Farouk (Nima Taleghani), who may be a romantic interest for Mr. Ajayi (Fisayo Akinade), and James McEwan, a previously nameless student portrayed by Bradley Riches, are both joining the series.
The promotional teaser for the forthcoming eight episodes provides some hints as to what fans might expect.
While on a school trip to Paris, we witness Nick and Charlie becoming closer, as well as their excellent pals Elle and Tao, as well as Tara and Darcy.
During the teaser, Charlie tells Nick, ‘Everything’s going to be wonderful,’ which is either incredibly hopeful or a recipe for disaster!
The first scene was also revealed at Netflix’s special live event Tulum. It began with cute polaroid photographs of Charlie and Nick kissing before panning to Charlie waking up to a text from his lover.
He gets ready for school, messaging Nick the entire time with a huge grin on his face, and arrives at class to see Nick welcoming him with his hands over his eyes.
It’s pure delight, which is why people fell in love with it in the first place.
Not only that, but Tudum disclosed the titles of each episode, which are as follows: Out, Family, Promise, Challenge, Heat, Truth/Dare, Sorry, and Perfect.
Heartstopper season two premieres August 3 on Netflix.
