The winner of Love Island Greg O’Shea passed up a golden opportunity with Margot Robbie and later regretted it.
Greg, 28, and Amber Gill, 26, won Love Island in 2019, and superfan Margot Robbie, 33, was among the millions who witnessed their brief but £50,000-worth voyage.
Later that summer, Margot, who had hosted a Love Island-themed birthday party for herself, invited several of the islanders to the London premiere of her film Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.
After meeting Lucie Donlan and Michael Griffiths, the Oscar nominee invited them all over to her home for an after party.
Greg, on the other hand, did not party with Margot since he turned her down for some strange reason.
Greg’s Love Island co-star Chris Taylor also attended the party and later landed a tiny role in the Barbie film.
Both islanders made an appearance on The Six O’Clock Show, with Chris recounting how he got the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it job.
‘It all started at the (Harley Quinn) Birds of Prey premiere, which actually I didn’t even go to. And I know you were invited to it but you decided to not go,’ he said.
‘The worst decision of my life,’ Greg admitted.
While Greg was left to contemplate about his big mistake, Chris continued: ‘But anyway, Margot got a message to the boys that went to the premiere to say, “Come to the afterparty.”
‘I was in bed, I got up with the boys and we all went to the afterparty and Margot was there.
‘She knew who we all were which was bizarre, she kind of came over and gave us all hugs and that which was bizarre. The after-party finished and she said to us, “Do you want to come to the after-afterparty?”‘
Understandably, Greg was ‘absolutely seething at this point’.
Chris was one of several Love Island stars invited to the Barbie red carpet in July, with previous year’s winner Ekin-su Cülcülolu and Davide Sanclimenti running into each other weeks after their breakup, with a video of her giving him the death gaze going viral.
