The first Strictly Come Dancing 2023 teaser has been published, and we couldn’t be more excited.
The cast of this year’s series is incredibly outstanding, with Bobby Brazier, Angela Rippon, Layton Williams, and Zara McDermott taking to the dance floor.
And, if the teaser is any indication, fans are in for a wonderful treat.
The unsettling trailer begins with Jowita Przystal and Vito Coppola appearing alone dancing around the streets of the city at night before a full company of dancers explodes into view.
Rhythm is a version of A dancer begins to play, and a close-up of the dancers performing jaw-dropping movements reveals the dancers to be the other Strictly pros.
Giovanni Pernice, Johannes Radebe, Dianne Buswell, and Nancy Xu are among the experts demonstrating their abilities as they go smoothly up the stairs, with the trailer concluding with the stars in a stunning circular staircase.
While we didn’t get to see our 2023 stars or hear who they’ll be partnered with, we’re more than eager to get into the new season.
Amy Dowden, the star of Strictly Come Dancing, does not featured in the video, although she recently indicated that she will be returning to the show in some capacity, however little.
The professional dancer, 33, disclosed earlier this year that she had stage 3 breast cancer.
She’s since had a single mastectomy and is undergoing chemotherapy after doctors discovered new malignancies, forcing her to leave Strictly 2023.
However, Amy hinted a return to the Strictly studios earlier this week, and she wants to appear, whether in a complete dance routine, a home video clip, or even an episode of supplemental show It Takes Two.
A BBC representative subsequently confirmed that she ‘wasn’t there to shoot the launch opener,’ but she ‘will be in the series.’
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this month.
