Great British Bake Off contestant Laura Adlington has hit back at cruel trolls telling them she’s a ‘human being with feelings’ after mean viewers asked how she’s still in the competition.
Although it was a close call, the 31-year-old baker was saved by judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood on Tuesday despite having a kitchen nightmare with her ice cream cake and Lottie was sent home.
Fans of the show flooded social media demanding how Laura managed to survive 80s Week, and she fought back – and rightly so.
One user scathed: ‘Why does Laura keep getting saved she doesn’t deserve to be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’
Responding to the mean message, Laura replied: ‘Cheers for that. You are entitled to your opinion but please remember I am a human being with feelings.’
Another mean tweet about next week’s episode, read: ‘Laura f***ing up and making YET ANOTHER mistake on the preview for next week’s episode. WHAT A SURPRISE.’
Laura replied: ‘It’s a preview. Maybe just keep your opinion to yourself until you watch it yeah.’
‘How does Laura keep scraping through,’ penned another social media user, to which she responded: ‘I honestly don’t know mate. It really is a wonder.’
This week’s episode saw the bakers put through their paces with 80s Week, and they were challenged to make quiches, finger doughnuts, and an ice cream cake.
Sadly though, it was the end of the road for Lottie, who was kicked out the competition by Noel Fielding.
After learning she’d been spared another week, Laura told the cameras: ‘I think mixed emotions definitely right now. Really happy I got through, but Lottie is a really good friend.’
Great British Bake Off continues Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
