Gordon Ramsay took a cheeky swipe at fellow TV chef Gino D’Acampo on tonight’s Future Food Stars.

The semi-final episode saw the last four contestants work in teams to sell vegan alternatives via TikTok and then challenged to host a pasta-making masterclass.

Before the intense pasta workshops began, the Michelin-starred chef approached the co-founders of delivery business Pasta Evangelists to learn the tips and tricks of the industry, while making a cheeky dig at Gino along the way.

After listening to the experts’ advice, Gordon said: ‘I have a friend that’s been a foodie for the last 20 years, and I would love you to show him how to make authentic pasta, from the heart.’

‘His name’s Gino D’Acampo, would you give him a lesson?’ Gordon joked about his Italian pal, who has recently taken a break from This Morning to return to Sardinia for a few months.

We’ll never be tired of the two chefs taking jokey swipes at each other, as this is just the latest between the pair, who starred together on three seasons of Gordon, Gino & Fred’s Road Trip.

When the programme came to an end in 2021, Gino announced on Twitter it was the end and said he’d be working on a new project with Fred Siriex, and couldn’t resist taking a cheeky swipe at Gordon at the same time.

Posting a picture of him and Fred sleeping, Gino wrote: ‘Breaking News… Unfortunately we will no longer be filming #GordonGinoandFred mainly because @gordongram is too busy working on his hair highlights in USA.

‘But don’t worry guys, @fred_sirieix and I have a plan #JustinGinoandFred Coming soon…….GDx.’

Elsewhere on the Future Food Stars semi-final, Valentina walked out on Victoria after the pair couldn’t continue working together, while Steph and Leah hosted a hectic and complicated pasta-making workshop, before one contestant lost their chance at Gordon’s £150,000 investment.

In the final stage of the competition next week, the three remaining entrepreneurs will face one last challenge and hold a launch event for their products.

Each of them will face the most intense grilling from Gordon yet, before the chef decides who will be his first ever Future Food Star.

Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars continues next week at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
