After her programme on Wednesday was cut short, Good Morning Britain host Laura Tobin was obliged to notify a devoted fan that she was married.
The 41-year-old was reporting live from Stone Henge while conversing with Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley in the studio when a man approached on air asking for a discussion and to provide Laura some warmth.
‘A lot of people are interested in Laura’s weather forecast,’ Susanna started.
‘Laura, how many new friends have you made this morning?’ Laura brushed it off, claiming she’d met “a lot of unusual acquaintances.”
‘There’s a man who has brought a foil blanket to serve as a reflector, that’s quite beneficial for you,’ she said before she could even begin her weather report.
After assuming she’d be ‘cold,’ a man emerged on video with a foil blanket and wrapped it around her.
‘Thank you so much,’ she laughed, as he smiled at the camera.
‘That’s really helpful and kind of you,’ she added.
However, clearly not getting the hint that she was on air, he continued: ‘I really like your energy, you’re a really pretty lady, I just want to be part of the culture, and see the beauty, this energy, your entourage.’
‘She’s married,’ Susanna interrupted from the studio, as the man continued trying to woo Laura.
‘Yeah, I am married but that’s so kind of you,’ Laura added.
The visitor continued: ‘That’s very helpful to know, the very question, do you have a boyfriend or not? Because if you are taken, it’s okay, yeah sure we can enjoy other vibes, flirting.’
The man, who introduced himself as Mars, finally got the hint when Laura replied: ‘Shall I just get on telling people about Stone Henge?’
She carried on to the camera: ‘Basically the vibe here is very nice, there’s lots of very happy people, lots of energy.’
Laura is no stranger to unexpected on-air gaffes, as she recently appeared on Good Morning Britain with her hair rollers still in place.
Laura appeared on camera among a field of daffodils between news announcements to provide a weather report.
She had no idea the camera would be trained on her so soon.
Just before the clip began, Laura could be heard whispering: ‘Just do a nice pan,’ while shuffling could be heard on camera.
The clip then shifted to daffodils before returning to Laura, who quickly removed a roller from her hair.
‘Welcome back to Good Morning Britain,’ she began before the camera focused on her.
Pulling the roller out of her hair, she said: ‘I’ve just realised I’ve got my roller in! Take that out.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1.
