Stephen Webb, a Gogglebox veteran, has allegedly signed up for Dancing On Ice, only days after leaving the Channel 4 show.
After a decade on our screens, the reality TV legend revealed his departure from the programme with his partner Daniel Lustig-Webb.
The pair thanked their followers for ‘all your love and support throughout the years’ in a video announcing their departure.
‘It really has meant a lot,’ Stephen continued. ‘We just wanted to do this video just to say thank you to you guys.’
Daniel blew a kiss at the camera, before his partner stressed that if viewers get ‘withdrawal symptoms’, then ‘we are available on Netflix’.
And it’s now been reported that Stephen will soon be heading to ITV for the star-studded competition.
A source said: ‘Many Gogglebox stars face a dilemma at some point.
‘Many of them develop profiles in their own right and inevitably receive offers to appear on other shows.’
The insider continued to The Sun: ‘If they do go on other things they are making official their transition to celebrity, and Gogglebox reviewers are meant to be regular members of the public.
‘Stephen had very much developed his own profile.
‘It wasn’t a surprise he received other offers, though no one would have necessarily guessed he’d be doing Dancing On Ice.’
Stephen originally appeared on Gogglebox as one of the original stars in season one in 2013, alongside his former co-star Christopher Steed.
Stephen’s mother Pat Webb took over the series from series 10 to 12 after Christopher retired in 2017.
Daniel has been working with Stephen since Series 13, and he will be featured on Gogglebox in 2019.
‘After a brilliant and illustrious time on Gogglebox, Stephen and Daniel have decided that now is the right time to explore life beyond the sofa and leave the show,’ said show creators Studio Lambert and Channel 4.
‘As one of the original Goggleboxers, Stephen has entertained the nation with his hilarious quips since the show first started in 2013, sharing his opinions on the best and biggest TV events of the last ten years.
‘We would like to thank him and Daniel for being utterly brilliant contributors to the show, and we wish them well with their future projects.’
Gogglebox airs on Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
