Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice showed off his brilliant new body art which comes just a few weeks after he became a champion for the first time with Rose Ayling-Ellis.

The pair quickly became one of the favourites to go all the way in the competition after winning the hearts of the nation.

Rose was the first-ever Deaf contestant to take part and wowed viewers with her sensational routines throughout with Giovanni.

After facing John Whaite and Johannes Radebe in the final – after AJ Odudy was forced to pull out due to an injury – Rose and Gio were the ones to lift the Glitterball at last.

With the pair now out on tour, the Italian professional got the best tribute to his recent win, a brand-new tattoo.

Showing off a picture of the addition to his arm on his Instagram story, he accompanied the snap with the song We Are The Champions by Queen.

The tattoo has two, parts with a sparkling Glitterball with the letters ‘SCD’ in the middle, as well as the date of their victory, December 18, in numerical form.

It must have spelt good luck as Rose and Giovanni got off to a winning start on the nightly tour, which is running up and down the UK over the next few weeks.

They claimed victory at the first live show in Birmingham and celebrated later in a jubilant video shared on the dancer’s Instagram story.

‘Hello. We’ve just done our very first show, and… we won it! Yes! I want to say thank you to the Birmingham people’ an elated Rose, 27, said to the camera.

Giovanni, 31, emphasised how wonderful it was to be back on the live tour performing in front of a live audience, as the 2021 tour had to be cancelled due to the pandemic.
