Gemma Collins ‘centre of bidding war between BBC and ITV’

Gemma Collins has become the centre of a ‘tug of war’ between all the major TV channels including BBC and ITV, new reports claim.

The Diva In Lockdown star and recently charted pop star has become a hot commodity for networks, thanks to her bold and brassy persona, appearing in an ITV2 reality series and launching a podcast with BBC Sounds.

It’s now believed that Gemma is being fought after to bring in a ‘fresh, young audience.’

‘Gemma is ITV’s golden girl at the moment, and her hugely successful reality shows have not gone unnoticed by rival bosses,’ a source told The Sun.

‘The GC is exactly what the BBC need to freshen up their channels and they want her on screen to draw in a younger audience, and Channel 4 have also expressed an interest.’

Gemma has become one of ITV’s most well-known faces, and has remained mainly with the channel since she first shot to fame after earning her divaship on The Only Way Is Essex in 2011.

However, she has previously jumped over for one-off seasons – most notably Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother, and Channel 4’s Celebs Go Dating.

She’s also carved a name for herself online as somewhat of a meme queen, with her comments across her TV appearances becoming iconic.

YouTubers even successfully submitted her to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

She’s next due back on our screens for an ‘emotional’ chat with Piers Morgan on Life Stories, which will air in the new year.
