After Camille Lamb was fired, Below Deck chief steward Fraser Olender foreshadowed further drama on board.
Captain Sandy Yawn handed the deck / stew her marching orders at the end of last week’s episode, and the fallout will continue in the next episode.
Throughout season 10, viewers saw her struggle with her responsibilities, and tensions remained high when she eventually joined the interior crew full-time, regularly sparring with castmate Alissa Humber.
During one disagreement, their ranting grew loud enough for guests to hear, thus it was decided that something needed to change.
‘I always remember this season back as Camille not even being the drama,’ Fraser remarked on her leave in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.
‘There’s a lot to come. I’m a bit worried about it, but there’s a hell of a lot of coming our way, and if people thought Camille was a big deal, then they’ve got a whole a lot of surprises.’
‘I really love Camille as a person, but she just wasn’t helping, and we were going through such a huge transition of losing Captain Lee [Rosbach], and, you know, getting used to Captain Sandy’s management style, and there was a lot going on, not least because the boat is enormous,’ he reflected.
‘Truth be told, she was just making everything harder when it was just so unnecessary. So yeah, it’s a shame. But I’m glad I made that exact decision, and I’m glad that Captain Sandy sort of gave me the ultimatum to make that decision.’
After a dismal season on the inside team, Fraser wanted to give Camille another chance to impress him before making a decision.
This didn’t last long, as he soon discovered her drinking champagne while preparing for a fresh round of guests – all while the cabins she was supposed to be working on were subpar.
‘Seeing Camille come out with a pint-size glass of champagne just goes to show there’s truly no care or willingness to do the job,’ he told the camera in last week’s episode.
‘If they can’t play a role in supporting the bigger picture then they have no role on the St David.’
He told Captain Sandy about his current concerns, and she agreed that something needed to be done about the inner personnel.
‘To me, I’m tired of hearing about Camille,’ she announced. ‘She’s the common denominator in all of this.
‘Great girl, great personality, but at the same time, we have to do what’s best for the boat.’
Below Deck season 10 airs on Mondays on Bravo in the US, with new episodes available to stream on in the UK on the same day.
