First Dates viewers stunned as ‘escort’ strips off and gives a surprising performance

First Dates viewers were left in hysterics after an escort stripped off and surprised his date with an embarrassing confession, before performing for those watching at home, as the new series kicked off last night.

The Channel 4 programme, fronted by barman Merlin Griffiths and host Fred Sirieux, pairs up singletons on blind dates, in the hopes of finding true love.

But 24-year-old Fleur wasn’t quite expecting to find the Magic Mike of her dreams.

As the date began, the connection with Lewis, 28, was clear, but what she heard about his career took a surprising turn.

‘I used to work in skincare, I used to do the demos,’ Lewis began, continuing: ‘When I done it in London, I sat down and one woman was like “You should work for my company, it’s a little bit different from what you’re doing,” and I was like, “okay”.

‘She asked me if I wanted to do escorting.’

Fleur couldn’t manage to hide her shock, saying: ‘Oh my god, no way. Are you being serious? Did you do it? It sounds like you did!’

His surprises didn’t stop there, as he continued, explaining: ‘She said you don’t have to sleep with women, so I said okay – one of them asked if I could dance, like strip.’

He later added to the camera, before giving his own performance: ‘A woman split up from a guy and she wanted me to dance to a Backstreet Boys song because that was her break-up song – but, look it’s a job.’

After ripping off his T-shirt amid his Magic Mike moves as he danced to Backstreet Boys’ As Long As You Love Me, Lewis told Fleur: ‘Because what you’ve got to realise, this is Magic Mike era.’

While the pair seemed to like each other, and Fleur claimed she would ‘never judge someone for their past,’ agreeing she felt ‘chemistry’ between them, viewers were left cringing.

‘No no no no no. Cringe,’ one wrote, while another added: ‘What a waste of a good T-shirt.’

Meanwhile, someone else penned: ‘He is an exceptionally good dancer, and T-shirt ripper.’

Fleur may not have ended the night with a strip-tease to Backstreet Boys from Lewis, but she did get a kiss.

‘You deserved to be taken out and looked after, I’m going to take you somewhere decent,’ Lewis said, as they agreed on their second date.

First Dates airs Thursdays at 9pm on Channel 4.
