Fans have been left unimpressed at the latest trailer for the upcoming Kardashians series, ahead of the release of their new reality show.
The famous family confirmed that Keeping Up With The Kardashians was coming to an end last year, before quickly announcing their new program with Hulu, simply titled The Kardashians.
After months of teasers, the air date for the premiere was finally dropped on Monday, along with a new trailer showing Kim Kardashian and co, promising that ‘all walls will be shattered’.
However, the brief clip has since divided fans, with many unhappy at the use of Nina Simone’s version of Feeling Good – which is seen as a celebration of liberation – in the 30-second clip.
They also called out the use of the song following the accusations of cultural appropriation that members of the family have been met with in the past.
Many took aim at Disney Plus’ tweet of the video, questioning the decision behind the iconic track being used.
‘Using music by Nina Simone for anything associated with this family is just hateful and disrespectful,’ one replied.
As a follower questioned: ‘And releasing this during Black History Month??’
‘Nina Simone would embarrass them so badly their great great great grandchildren’s children wouldn’t be able to stand up for them. Don’t use her for these birds,’ a Twitter user commented.
‘Using Nina Simone’s song? DISGUSTING,’ an unhappy fan simply added.
Hulu dropped a fresh teaser for the Kardashians and revealed the air date, confirming that the episodes will be airing in two months.
Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian have returned to the fold, with momager Kris Jenner and Kylie and Kendall also involved.
The new program will be premiering on Hulu on April 14, and will also be dropping on Disney Plus on the same day.
The synopsis reads: ‘The family you know and love is here with a brand new series, giving an all-access pass into their lives. Kris, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall and Kylie bring the cameras back to reveal the truth behind the headlines.
‘From the intense pressures of running billion-dollar businesses to the hilarious joys of playtime and school drop-offs, this series brings viewers into the fold with a rivetingly honest story of love & life in the spotlight.’
The Kardashians is premiering on Hulu on April 14.
