Married at First Sight is off to a great start, with couples already feuding on their honeymoons, but viewers were heartbroken to watch their favourite pair dispute.
Nathanial Valentino embraced Ella Morgan Clark after she came out as trans to him on their wedding day, and the duo rapidly became fan favourites.
Ella, 29, was anxious at first, but the duo instantly clicked and appeared to have wonderful chemistry, as noticed by their wedding photographer.
Fans declared them their ‘otp’ before the conclusion of the second episode of the new season, believing they could go the distance.
The tone suddenly changed when the couple embarked on their honeymoon in sunny Mexico to get to know one other better.
In a more daring adventure, they went cave diving, walking hand in hand towards their target.
Ella laughed about being gassy and apprehensive, and the 36-year-old said he was ‘getting to know her’ but she ‘wasn’t as attractive as the exterior’.
Nathanial believed she was a’showoff’ among others and was ‘here for entertainment,’ something he didn’t like.
They appeared to be having a good time cave diving, but the events marketing manager suddenly shook his head at the camera before settling down for a conversation.
Ella claimed there was ‘no sexual spark,’ despite the fact that there was on the wedding day – she told him they were more like friends.
Nathanial tried to explain that he needed to get to know her before telling her how he felt, but things heated up.
‘I can only be authentic to myself,’ he said as the clinic consultant doubled down and asked him to clarify if he was attracted to her.
‘I don’t want to do something that’s going to lead to you a place I can’t fulfil,’ he argued, saying that she was moving at a faster pace than he could.
Back in their hotel room, the pair were at odds over their relationship styles but Nathanial admitted he was ‘less attracted’ to certain personality traits.
His wife hit back saying ‘when the cameras come out it’s all this acting’, with both saying the other was being fake during filming.
As shouts rose, he stormed away from Ella to terminate the disagreement as she yelled that he was a “prick.”
The drama in Mexico continued when she arrived to apologise, resulting in another yelling confrontation and Nathanial calling out a ‘false’ she had reportedly been telling him.
He rejected her and disclosed that she was a’stripper,’ which Ella said she had been in the ‘past,’ but was concerned it was why he was being so reserved.
She asked her husband to supper on their final night of honeymoon in the hopes of resolving their disagreement, but Nathanial declined.
‘Is there a resolution? I’m not sure – I’m gutted,’ he said.
