Ex-porn star Ron Jeremy ‘showing signs of dementia’ causing delay to trial in new Channel 4 documentary

Previously unseen footage from a new documentary about ex-porn star Ron Jeremy has revealed he is ‘showing signs of dementia’ that have led to his trial being delayed, according to his friends.

The former adult film actor, 69, is facing 34 counts of rape and sexual assault against 23 different women, with the alleged crimes spanning two decades from 2004 to 2020.

He has been in jail since 2020 but, earlier this year, a judge suspended his trial over concerns about his mental competence and his ability to assist in his own defense.

His suspected mental decline is shown in two-part Channel 4 documentary Porn King: The Rise and Fall of Ron Jeremy that aired this week.

In footage shown in the film, he is seen struggling to write his own name while signing autographs for fans.

Elsewhere he is filmed falling asleep during interviews and public appearances.

The documentary also reveals that he paid people to keep him company, and his condo became ‘unlivable’ leading to him moving to a motel.

His friend Kianna Bradley, also an adult film star, said she had started to notice ‘signs of dementia’ in the performer during an interview for the show.

‘He won’t remember who I am until I explain it to him,’ she added.

Fellow adult performer Alana Evans, who previously worked with Jeremy, also commented on his alleged mental deterioration.

She said: ‘Ron was totally senile. As Ron’s health, his cleanliness, his mental state deteriorated – his behaviour got worse.

‘Ron definitely got worse with his offending over time.’

The documentary sees many of the women who came forward about Jeremy’s behaviour speak about their experiences.

Former porn star Lianne Young is among those who speak about Jeremy, alleging he raped her 20 years ago.

She says she believes that Jeremy does not remember a lot of what he has done.

‘You’ve only been one side of Ron – Ron’s not going to show you his true colours, unless you’re a victim of Ron’s,’ she told interviewers.

‘People hide behind characters, and the fact is predators are so good at hiding, and Ron is one of them. The man’s a rapist.

‘I often do think, “Will Ron remember it?” And I don’t think he will. I don’t think Ron remembers half [of] what he’s done, and I know that I’m not the only one.’

Jeremy made his debut in the porn industry back in 1979, quickly becoming one of the most prolific adult actors with more than 2,000 films under his belt and a Guinness Book of World Record title for Most Appearances in Adult Films.

Nicknamed ‘The Hedgehog’, he has also directed 285 adult films and has also had screen roles outside of the adult film industry.

Jeremy denies all allegations of sexual assault.
