Dick and Angel Strawbridge of Escape to the Chateau have reflected on a “humbling couple of days” after their outburst at a producer was leaked.
In May, Channel 4 and the show’s production company, Two Rivers Media, dismissed the pair when they were placed under investigation for an undisclosed cause.
The broadcaster’s investigation came after repeated allegations against Dick, 63, and Angel, 45,’s behaviour, with a source from Escape To The Chateau’s previous production firm Spark Media telling The Times they were ‘abusive and aggressive’ in 2021.
At the time, the pair rejected the charges of harsh and bullying behaviours to the journal.
This year, three more of their former coworkers told Deadline that they fought with producers, and another said they were a “nightmare to deal with.”
The same publication received recordings in which Angel is said to have called a producer a “f***ing c**t” and described how “f***ing upset” she was.
After conducting a meet-and-greet with fans on Thursday, the pair shared their first Instagram post since the leak.
They wrote: ‘A huge hello to you on this Wonderful Wednesday!
‘It’s been a humbling couple of days here for us and our team.
‘1,000 Chateau hugs…1,000 cakes, lots of bubbly in tea cups, plenty of smiles, and two wedding proposals took place at our biggest event ever.’

It comes after it was revealed that Dick and Angel are shutting a firm named after the château.
The private firm was founded in 2017, but the directors Dick and Angel applied to dissolve it on May 9, this year.
The Chateau, where the couple also resides, warns guests that they are presently working on a backlog of weddings owing to Covid-19 and are not accepting new appointments. While certain events, such as “Chateau Under the Stars” and “Working Garden Day,” are now unavailable.
Here’s what was heard in the recording…
Angel Strawbridge: ‘It’s not anyone’s fault, but I was up here for 15 minutes waiting and I wanted to know where you both were.’
Producer: ‘The thing is, we’re all going to get really stressed, and this next week is not –’
Angel Strawbridge: ‘My husband speaks to everyone when he’s grumpy like a piece of s***.’
Producer: ‘And I don’t like that either.’
Angel Strawbridge: ‘No, I know, but when people are stressed, which, let me tell you, shall we start by f***ing that I went onto your Instagram and have had some f***ing… and saw some of the pictures that you’ve put up. Well, let me tell you that there’s some on there that are so f***ing dark that if you can’t see that as an artist…
‘What about the one with the chef with the big moustache and the big shoulders? Who is that inspired by when you’re fing working at the chateau? Just tell me that and then you can f***ing leave! And this is me f***ing angry because I think you’re a fed up little c**t, actually.
‘Now this is me angry! I just wanted to know where you both were, OK? Now, do not work in this chateau and then post dark, weird pictures that I find quite insulting. And do not smirk. You know what? You can just f*** off.’
Dick and Angel addressed the accusations about their conduct for the first time on May 26, insisting there were ‘two sides to every story.’
They wrote: ‘We know there are lots of stories in the press right now. It’s not worth us even trying to comment or give context, because anything can be made into a good headline. We understand. There are two sides to every story and from the incredible support we have received, most of you know that.’
The pair insisted that the decision to cancel Escape to the Chateau was “a Strawbridge Family choice.”
Escape to the Chateau, which premiered in 2016, chronicled the couple’s difficult journey restoring and rebuilding the decaying 19th century Chateau de la Motte Husson in France into a family home and wedding venue where they reside with their children, Arthur and Dorothy.
Escape to the Chateau is available to stream on All4.
