Very soon, Disney Plus will debut a documentary series on music superstar Ed Sheeran.
The Sum Of It All four-part series will launch on the streaming service on May 3, with all episodes available for binge-watching.
The Sum Of It All will recount Sheeran’s spectacular career and ascent to prominence, as well as his early life and family.
A trailer for the upcoming documentary provides fans with a brief overview of the A-Team hitmaker’s life.
Over footage of himself as a young child, Sheeran says, “Ginger hair, incredibly short, he stutters — that person doesn’t become a pop star.”
The 32-year-old celebrity is then seen in a succession of onstage footage as he performs for thousands of admirers, followed by a homage to SBTV creator Jamal Edwards, who died last year after a heart attack brought on by recreational drug usage.
He mentions a number of his accomplishments before stating that his ‘life improved’ when he met his wife, Cherry Seaborn, whom he married in 2019 and with whom he has two children.
Sheeran weeps as he discusses the death of Edwards and his wife’s health problems, which inspired him to write songs.
‘Life is unpredictable, plans can change really quickly,’ Sheeran states, over pictures of the star enjoying time with his loved ones and playing music, before the trailer ends.
Sheeran stated in his statement that he has always been ‘very private’ about his personal life.
‘The only documentary I’ve ever made has been one that focused on my songwriting,’ he said.
‘Disney approached me to make a four-part documentary, and it felt like the right time to open the door and let people in. I hope people enjoy it.’
The documentary will be released alongside his new album – (Subtract).
It is his sixth album to date and the last to be titled after mathematical symbols.
In just a few short weeks, Sheeran will also embark on a tour of the United Kingdom and Europe.
To mark the release, the singer-songwriter will perform concerts in Manchester, London, Glasgow, and Dublin, as well as a one-off performance in Paris.
The Sum Of It All will be released on Disney Plus on May 3.
