Love Island‘s David Salako, who was the first person evicted from the villa this season, has confirmed that Zara Lackenby-Brown and Olivia Hawkins indeed have a past.
In case you missed it, the girls have been involved in some fairly uncomfortable situations that have resulted in tears, disagreements, and drama over Tom Clare, with whom Zara is presently involved.
Tensions have been building since Zara, 25, arrived in the villa as a surprise, and not long after labelled Olivia, 27, the “most two-faced” islander during a game.
While the other islanders were left in hysterics by the violent move, Olivia was plainly unhappy and stated in the Beach Hut that she felt ‘humiliated’.
Not long after, things escalated as their argument reached a boiling point and Zara said to Olivia: ‘Why do you think I’m here? To p**s you off? I’m in here for myself. I’m here for myself. Do you think I’ve flown 11 hours from England to piss you off? Get over yourself Liv.’
Olivia was moved to tears, but the couple appeared to move on in recent episodes, leaving fans to question what exactly is going on between the two, especially after discovering social media hints indicating they’ve known each other for years.
And now, David has cleared things up.
‘This is something that was discussed in the villa, they told everyone,’ David stated on TikTok. ‘I believe Zara informed everyone she knew Liv, which Liv confirmed’.
‘Yeah, I just want to confirm that the beef between Zara and Olivia is 100% true,’ he said later.
Fans remained intrigued, though, and continued to inquire about the uneasy friendship.
‘It all started actually with a beer pong game, I remember Zara dubbed Liv’two-faced, obviously at the time, Liv was coupled up with Tom and Zara was eager to get to know Tom so that also got under Liv’s skin, and also in the beer-pong game, Zara kissed Tom,’ David explained.
‘So a combination of the three just sent Liv a bit south and ever since then there’s been tension between the two’.
The 24-year-old teased: ‘Obviously they’ve squashed it now, but if this triangle between Tom, Liv and Zara continues then yeah, it’s only going to result in more drama’.
‘Look, they’ve squashed the dispute now, but personally, I think there’s going to be more,’ he said elsewhere.
Consider ourselves curious!
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
