As if we could be any more excited for Drag Race UK Versus The World, the likes of Katie Price, Daisy May Cooper and Johannes Radebe have been announced as special guests… and we are SHOOK.
The mother of all Drag Race competitions is set to launch on BBC Three, as queens from the UK compete against international stars of the franchise for the ultimate crown.
With just a couple of weeks to go until the premiere, the broadcaster has announced the guest judges and stars that are going to be joining Michelle Visage, RuPaul, Alan Carr and Graham Norton – and our excitement has just soared through the roof.
Following Bimini Bon-Boulash’s legendary impression of her in season two of Drag Race UK, Katie is set to take part in Snatch Game alongside Michelle, as the new batch of competitors deliver their best – and worst – impersonations.
Speaking ahead of her appearance, the media personality said: ‘I LOVE Drag Race! The hair, the make-up, the outfits, the characters, the personalities, the glam of it all! I just love it. I’m so excited to be playing the Snatch Game for real this time… Remember, the nipples are the eyes of the face.’ This is going to be iconic.
This Country star Daisy will be one of the guest judges gracing the panel with her wit and charisma, stating: ‘I can’t wait to bring some Daisy May Cooper couture to the runway. I love the show… I love it all!’
The other extra special celebrity friends who will be delivering their critiques as guest judges include BBC Radio 1 presenter Clara Amfo, Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey, Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall, Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm and Our Girl actor Michelle Keegan.
Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing 2021 runner-up Johannes will be helping the queens with their choreography for a maxi-challenge – which we already know will be one of the highlights of the series.
‘For someone who has been a fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race since its inception in 2009, I was gooped and gagged to be a part of this!’ the professional dancer said.
‘It’s definitely a career highlight for me. As IF anyone would miss the opportunity to be part of the fabulous evolution that is RuPaul’s Drag Race!’
Jade said that she was ‘so happy’ to be returning as a guest judge, saying that she feels ‘so much love from the community’, while Clara described Drag Race UK as ‘so quintessentially British’, from ‘United Kingdolls, Kat Slater intros, iconic fish and chips lewks, Katie Price in Snatch Game’.
Michelle said that she loves how Drag Race ‘makes everyone smile’, adding that ‘the world needs a bit of that right now’, while Jonathan said that he ‘can already smell the talent, hairspray and a whole lotta side boob’.
Mel C added: ‘It really is the Olympics of Drag. It’s a celebration of the uniqueness of British drag… and an opportunity to educate the nation!’
Drag Race UK Versus The World launches on February 1 on BBC Three.
