The Vivienne, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, was allegedly abused in a McDonald’s on Friday.
The 31-year-old, actual name James Lee Williams, shot to stardom after appearing in the series in 2019, and has since appeared on shows such as Dancing On Ice and This Is Going To Hurt.
She has now revealed a heinous event in which she claims she was “attacked” in front of “kids and ladies.”
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: ‘Just been attacked in McDonald’s, Police on way. Homophobia alive and well folks!
‘First time I’ve never retaliated in a fight because I’m not gonna punch somebody in front of kids and women. #pieceofs**t.’
Her post was showered in support and well-wishes, with fans ‘sending love’ and commenting that they hope she’s okay.
The Viv later confirmed in an update: ‘Police on way x.’
Following her appearance on Dancing On Ice this year, when she was partnered with Colin Grafton, The Viv expressed her gratitude for being able to raise awareness on national television, despite the ‘horrible’ things that are happening within the LGBTQ+ community.
‘A lot of my community in America are going through a horrendous time now, and it’s trickling into the UK,’ she explained.
Her remarks occurred after members of the white supremacist organisation Patriotic Alternative organised an anti-drag demonstration outside a Drag Queen Story Hour UK event in London.
Protesters held signs reading ‘groomer’ with an image of an LGBTQ+ Pride flag as well as ‘Leave Our Kids Alone!’ in front of a line of police. Some came wearing T-shirts reading: ‘Groom Dogs, Not Children.’
The Viv said: ‘How does drag queens reading children a storybook translate into grooming? It’s because of crazy politicians that have their own agenda like “who can we put the blame on now? Let’s try the gays again.”‘
She continued: ‘I do drag to have fun for myself, there’s no agenda. It’s all hidden motives and people pointing fingers. I think it’s absolutely insane.’
