There’s a host of new faces who have made a big impact on the new series of Doctor Who, and not all of them are human…
The Doctor travels across space and time in the new episodes of Flux to ‘see a man about a dog’. And who is that dog? It’s Karvanista, who is a member of the alien race Lupari.
The Lupari made their debut in series opener The Halloween Apocalypse, and they’ve already endeared themselves to fans in their limited appearances so far.
They’re a race of hugely advanced aliens whose technical developments make them a hugely powerful species.
While they’re not actually dogs at all, they share similarities with man’s best friend and they’re doing their upmost to protect earth from the flux in new episodes.
Karvanista looks set to play a big part in the series – but who plays the new character? Here’s everything you need to know.
Who plays Karvanista in Doctor Who: Flux?
While he’s pretty indistinguishable under the costume costume in the new episodes, Karvanista is played by Liverpudlian actor Craige Els.
When he’s not playing the furry alien on Doctor Who, he’s also known for his portrayal of Derek Milligan on Coronation Street. He played the character in 18 episodes back in 2019.
He’s also appeared in Ripper Street, Law and Order: UK and Call The Midwife. Craige has also appeared as Miss Trunchbull in Matilda: The Musical on stage.
