Dianne Buswell congratulated her father after accompanying him to a chemotherapy treatment.
The professional dancer, 34, returned to Australia shortly after the Strictly Come Dancing final last weekend, where she was crowned runner-up alongside dance partner, EastEnders star Bobby Brazier, 20.
Dianne disclosed her father Mark was ill last month after he became noticeably distressed during the BBC dance series and subsequently revealed he’d been diagnosed with a health ailment.
Since then, she has been updating her fans on his condition, including the fact that he has recently begun chemotherapy.
Dianne has now released a video of herself bringing her father to the hospital, just a few days after returning to visit her family.
Dianne is shown heading into the hospital arm in arm with Mark before he is seen seated in a chair getting ready for his treatment and smiling and giving her a thumbs up.
Dianne then videos herself smiling and extending out her arm to her father while Jack Johnson’s Better Together plays.
Mark, making light of the situation, has some fun in the chair and begins playing with the remote and chuckling before everything begins.
Following the therapy, the couple is spotted strolling hand in hand out of the hospital.
She captioned the post: ‘Round 3. Proud of you dad. Always with a positive mind frame and smile on your face.’
Many threw their support behind Dianne and her family, with her Strictly co-star Amy Dowden commenting: ‘Cmon mark you got this! Love you both xxxx.’
‘So beautiful. All of you. Sending you massive cuddles and the most love and light!’ Amanda Abbington wrote.
Meanwhile, another professional dancer Vito Coppola posted a sequence of emojis depicting an arm flexing.
Dianne tweeted a photo of her father in a hospital bed after his first round of treatment a few weeks ago, saying she wishes she could ‘be there to hold your hand and support you in person’.
When she first revealed her father’s illness, she expressed her heartbreak at being so far away from her family.
‘Being away from home and not being able to support and help your family in a time of need is quite a difficult thing so I did struggle a little bit last week in terms of that,’ she shared.
Strictly Come Dancing is streaming on BBC iPlayer.
