Former I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! Brian Paddick, the actor, has reported the death of his husband, Petter Belsvik.
The devastating news was reported on Twitter by the Liberal Democrat peer, who appeared in the 2008 series of the ITV reality show.
“My beautiful, loving husband, Petter Belsvik, has died suddenly at our home in Oslo,’ he penned.
‘He was found peacefully alone, with no cause of death immediately apparent.
‘It will take some time to establish what happened. We were devoted to each other, and I am devastated.’
Fellow celebrities offered their condolences to Paddick, with Loose Women and I’m A Celeb alum Charlene White writing: ‘Oh my goodness Brian, I’m so so sorry… Sending you and the family my love.’
Lawyer Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu added: ‘I’m very very sorry for your loss.’
Sky News journalist Kay Burley replied: ‘My dear Brian, this is truly tragic news. All my thoughts are with you. Stay strong xxx” as former BBC Home Affairs correspondent and journalist Danny Shaw wrote: ‘So sorry to hear that Brian. What a terrible shock. Thinking of you.’
Claire Fox, who is a member of the House of Lords, tweeted: ‘Oh Brian, how tragic. You have always spoken so lovingly of him. I am so, so sorry to hear this. Little to be said, except many will be thinking of you and sending as many positive thoughts of support as possible.’
Paddick was the sixth celebrity to be voted off the annual survival series, which was hosted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly and saw actor Joe Swash named King of the Jungle.
When he emerged from the woods, his late husband Belsvik greeted him.
