Dermot O’Leary tells Alison Hammond he’ll ‘walk her down the aisle’ at her wedding and we couldn’t love their friendship more

Ever since they started presenting This Morning together, Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond’s bond has continued to strengthen.

Now, Dermot has revealed to his co-host that he wants to walk her down the aisle at her wedding… and we honestly couldn’t love their adorable friendship any more.

On Friday’s edition of the ITV programme, the pair were chatting with Holly Smith, dubbed the ‘coupon queen’, about discounts viewers should be aware of, including slashed prices for bridesmaid and wedding dresses.

As the segment drew to a close, Dermot turned to Alison and said: ‘Just so we’re clear, I’m walking you down the aisle. You know that, don’t you?’

‘If you want to,’ she replied, as the former X Factor presenter exclaimed ‘Yes!’ triumphantly.

However, Alison then appeared to have a change of heart, asking if her 17-year-old son Aiden could do the honour instead.

‘No!’ Dermot retorted light-heartedly, as Alison suggested that her co-star would ‘just be in the crowd’ or ‘outside’ the ceremony.

‘What about MC?’ he then suggested, an idea she didn’t appear to be on board with.

‘Don’t put me on car parking duty!’ Dermot urged Alison. We’re sure he’d have a more significant role in the nuptials than that!

In January, the dynamic duo marked their one-year anniversary of hosting Fridays on This Morning, having taken over the slot from Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

While celebrating the occasion, Dermot joked how they ‘used to hate each other’, as Alison chimed in to correct him by saying: ‘We’ve never hated each other, we’ve always loved each other.’

The pair previously admitted that it wasn’t always a smooth-sailing partnership from the start, as they were initially ‘thrown’ together on the programme.

However, after having some ‘private chats’, where they opened up about things they ‘didn’t like’ about the way they both acted, they worked things out… and have been going from strength to strength ever since.

As Alison blew out the candles on their anniversary cake, she told their viewers to wish her and Dermot ‘another 10 years’.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
