The return of Deal or No Deal to our televisions after nearly a decade has been marked by the unveiling of a new sparkling logo.
The famous midday game show with Noel Edmonds lasted for 11 years on Channel 4 before being cancelled in 2016, purportedly due to falling ratings.
Based on a Dutch model, the classic show let viewers to choose one of 22 boxes, each carrying an unknown monetary value ranging from 1p to £250,000.
Without knowing what each one holds, the player must remove the boxes, which are opened one at a time, revealing the amount of money within.
Once the sum is disclosed, contestants can opt to wager in order to choose a box containing more money or accept an offer from the show’s Banker.
As long as the larger cash wins remain unclaimed, the Banker’s offers will increase, but this may all change in an instant if a significant cash award is announced.
Now it’s officially back, but with a fresh new host in charge.
Stephen Mulhern will take over hosting responsibilities from Noel, and he’s already been practising.
‘Wow what an opportunity, I’m beyond excited to be hosting the brand-new series,’ said the 46-year-old personality.
‘I’ve always been such a huge fan of the show, so much so, I’ve been practising at home with small cereal boxes!
‘It looks so simple but it’s an incredibly compelling game for both those playing and the viewers watching at home.
‘It’s one of the greatest shows of all time and to be the new host is an honour! I can’t wait to get started.’
