A reunion between actors from the Daredevil Netflix series has sparked renewed hope of it being revived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) – something that we won’t stop praying for until it becomes a reality.

In 2018, it was announced that the streaming platform had cancelled the superhero drama, resulting in huge upset among the fandom who loved Charlie Cox’s portrayal of the lead character, Matt Murdock.

However, it wasn’t the end of the road for the actor, with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige announcing in December that he would reprise the role in the MCU, shortly before Vincent D’Onofrio’s return as Kingpin was confirmed in Disney Plus show Hawkeye.

In a tweet shared on Wednesday, Toby Leonard Moore, who played Wilson Fisk’s right-hand man Wesley in Daredevil, shared a photo of himself with Vincent, revealing that they’d bumped into each other in Sydney, Australia.

‘Look who I bumped into in Sydney. Lovely bloke and absolute legend, but #WeDontSayHisName,’ the Australian actor wrote, adding a selection of hashtags… including #mcu.

Not only did Toby’s reference to the MCU in his tweet get picked up by several individuals, but Deborah Ann Woll – who played office manager turned investigative journalist Karen Page in Daredevil – also chimed in.

The True Blood actress reshared Toby’s original post, writing in her caption: ‘This can’t be good for Karen Page.’

Considering Karen was the one who killed Wesley in season one, we can see why she would think so.

Despite the fact that Wesley died in Daredevil, there is always the possibility that the MCU could rewrite his history if they revived the series.

It hasn’t been revealed whether Charlie will be appearing in a new season of the show aside from other MCU projects – but that hasn’t quashed hope among dedicated fans.

‘If Daredevil becomes a soft reboot I would love if they bring back Wesley,’ one person tweeted, speculating that Wesley could still return in some form.

‘Whelp… there is the announcement we have been waiting for,’ another remarked, while someone else stated: ‘Don’t play with me.’

‘#MCU hashtag. That’s all folks,’ one Twitter user simply put, with another requesting that Deborah ‘pls come back’.

Patience, Daredevil fans, patience!

Daredevil is available to watch on Netflix.
