Daniel Kaluuya isn’t giving anything away when it comes to his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Nope star was earlier confirmed not to be reprising his role in Black Panther 2, which is a sequel to the 2018 film, starring the late Chadwick Boseman in the lead role of T’Challa.
Titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the movie will see the return of actors including Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Winston Duke as M’Baku and Angela Bassett as Ramonda.
However, Daniel won’t be making his return as W’Kabi, T’Challa’s close friend who was in a relationship with Okoye.
The Oscar winning actor, who has starred in another of Jordan Peele’s films, Get Out, appeared on Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast, but didn’t drop any hints about his Marvel future.
Asked if we’ll ever see W’Kabi again, Daniel coyly shared: ‘I don’t know man, you’ve got to ask Ryan [Coogler].’
He added: ‘It was just schedule conflict, if they do want it, we’ll have that conversation.’
Daniel’s new film Nope, created by Oscar-winning auteur Peele, who was also behind Us, is another horror that fans are waiting on the edge of their seats for.
After what seem to be alien objects fall from the sky into their ranch and kill their father, two siblings (played by Daniel and Keke Palmer) attempt to capture video evidence of the UFOs.
As multiple horses feature throughout the film, the cast had to practice with horse-riding, but for Daniel, this meant overcoming his PTSD.
Speaking to Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas on The One Show, Daniel recalled: ‘I had a bad accident a few years ago on a horse riding job, and then I had three and a half weeks to prepare for this role.
‘So I had a week to get over my PTSD in order to get ready and get good at horse riding.
‘What I realised is that it was a way to get through to the character,’ he added, highlighting that his character in the film, OJ, is ‘very still.’
‘As I was getting better at riding, I was getting closer to OJ as a character,’ Daniel continued.
The Big Breakfast continues on Saturday from 10am on Channel 4 and is available to watch on All 4.
