Dancing On Ice’s Denise Van Outen was one of the biggest stars taking part in the current series – but sadly, she won’t be appearing in any of the remaining episodes.

The current run of the ITV show has been hit by a raft of injuries, and Denise has been forced to drop out of the competition after dislocating her shoulder during training.

The 46-year-old performed wearing a sling during her previous appearance on the show, but her injury has now forced her to pull out.

Denise will be replaced by former Olympian Amy Tinkler. Amy is known for her athletics career, having won bronze at the Olympic floor exercise event during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Denise was ‘gutted’ to announce her departure from the ITV competition show with her professional partner Matt Evers, but is having to recuperate after sustaining three bone fractures and a partial dislocation.

‘Gutted!’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘We thought with rest I could make a return to the ice, but a scan has shown I have 3 bone fractures and a partial dislocation. Ouch! No wonder I’ve been in agony.

‘I’m bailing out gracefully with my DOI bling sling.’

The series has seen a succession of injuries. As well as Denise, Yebin Mok was admitted to hospital when former Olympic skier Graham Bell fell over and cut her leg, resulting in a horror injury.

Rebekah Vardy also inadvertently cut her partner Andy Buchanan’s face with her ice skate while rehearsing their routine.

Dancing on Ice continues at 6pm on ITV.
