Nile Wilson, a Dancing On Ice finalist, is apparently preparing to take on the headbanger, making him the first male participant to do so.
The Vivienne, Joey Essex, and the British gymnast will compete in the final, after Mollie Gallagher and Siva Kaneswaran were eliminated.
Throughout their time on the competition, the 27-year-old and his professional partner Olivia Smart have remained at the top of the scoreboard.
The performers will perform three dances in Sunday’s grand final: a showcase routine, a battle skate, and Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean’s legendary Boléro.
Nile, on the other hand, revealed that he is frightened of confronting the deadly headbanger.
‘Jayne and Chris have put the Headbanger into the routine,’ he said.
‘I will be the first male contestant to be lifted in a Headbanger and I am petrified,’ he added to MailOnline.
Tonight’s final will be a night of firsts for head judges Jayne and Chris, who serve on the show’s judging panel alongside dancers Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse. Jayne injured a bicep tendon during preparations for the performance and has yet to recuperate sufficiently to even put her skates on again.
She said: ‘I don’t think I have ever had an injury that’s stopped me doing what we were meant to be doing before.
‘We were three days from recording this routine, we had been working on it for weeks and weeks, we were more than ready to perform it.’
The 65-year-old added to the Mirror: ‘It’s like something being snatched away from you in the last second.’
Jayne added: ‘We are hopeful it will see the light of day next season.’
Christopher said: ‘It’s not the end of us yet!’
Dancing On Ice returns tonight at 6:30pm on ITV.
