Dancing On Ice: Joe-Warren Plant fights back tears after being left ‘gutted’ by Hamilton routine

Dancing On Ice’s Joe-Warren Plant was left speechless and fighting back tears on last night’s episode after feeling ‘gutted’ at his performance.

Alongside pro partner Vanessa Bauer, Joe performed his latest ice skating routine to The Room Where It Happens from Hamilton, as part of Musicals Week.

After finishing his routine, Joe – who fell over during his first live performance – looked disheartened and later confessed to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield he felt he could’ve done better.

But he didn’t need to worry, considering he got 30 out of 40 points, rocketing to the top of the scoreboard to the delight of viewers, and Vanessa.

Choking back tears and covering his mouth in shock, Joe said: ‘To be honest, I was gutted with how I performed. I can’t even talk.’

When Phillip was surprised at the harsh critique the actor had given himself, Vanessa stepped in and said: ‘He can do it better, but he didn’t fall over. You smashed it, I think.’

‘He wants to be pushed and he trains so hard every single day, and I’m so proud every single day,’ she added, giving him a hug.

The Emmerdale star has now made it through to another week on the series, with Olympic skier Graham Bell being sent home.

He was up against Rebekah Vardy in the skate-off after failing to get the public vote, with the judges voting unanimously to save Rebekah.

Will he be able to keep his top spot?

Dancing On Ice airs Sundays at 7pm on ITV.
