Liberty Poole has been praised for her quick recovery after suffering a fall during her Dancing On Ice routine.

The Love Island star, 22, and professional skater partner Joe Johnson tried to impress the judges with their twisting routine to Right Round by Flo Rida.

But unfortunately, all the twists and turns may have proved too much, as Liberty lost her balance and stumbled on the ice.

The rollercoaster-themed routine saw Joe lift Liberty in the air, and just as everything appeared to be going smoothly, she lost her footing during the landing and dragged them both to the ground.

Both Liberty and Joe wasted no time in getting straight back to their feet and finishing their routine with smiles on their faces, incredibly still in time to the music.

Despite the fall, Liberty managed to secure her highest score of the season so far, earning 28 points out of 40.

Judge Ashley Banjo praised the pair for their ‘speed and energy,’ and added: ‘Do you know what was more impressive? You guys fell over but you still managed to end on the beat.’

Viewers were just as impressed with Liberty’s recovery, many taking to Twitter to praise the duo.

‘Well done Liberty and Joe for getting straight back up after that fall!’ one person wrote on the site.

‘You did amazing to get back up like that,’ another fan told Liberty directly.

Another said Liberty and Joe ‘were smashing it until that little fall…really enjoyed their performance though – they are my favourites’.

Liberty herself addressed the fall on social media, where she tweeted that her motto for life is ‘you get knocked down you get back up again’.

Talking to presenters Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby after the routine, Liberty said: ‘That hasn’t happened before!

‘But sometimes it happens in the actual room even if it neverhappened before.’

She insisted she was still ‘proud’ of herself because she had pushed herself so much with the routine.

Philip agreed, and said the important thing was that they had got up and carried on.

The competition has now reached the mid-way point, with another celebrity to lose their place in the cast tonight following a public vote and dreaded skate-off.

Dancing On Ice continues on ITV next Sunday at 6pm.
