Dan Walker said that he’might truly be in love’ with Helen Skelton after stripping naked on a road trip.
The former Strictly Come Dancing stars are presently starring in the show Dan and Helen’s Pennine Adventure, in which they attempt to complete Britain’s first long-distance path, which stretches 268 miles from Derbyshire to the Scottish Borders.
Over the four-part series, they’ve forsaken the guidebooks and resorted to social media for advice on things to do along the route, travelling from near Dan’s home in Sheffield to Helen’s in Cumbria.
In the most recent episode, the couple travelled from Malham in the heart of the Dales to The Tan Hill Inn, which is notable for being Britain’s highest pub by height.
The two paused for a meal in the grounds of Pendragon Castle before decided to attempt some wild swimming, stripping down to their bathing suits and stepping into the freezing water.
But, despite telling her long-time pal in a previous episode that she loved him, Dan appears to have moved on, as he subsequently confessed his affection for another – a horse named Roger.
Following a ride following their swim, Dan, 46, joked that his co-presenter might be removed, and he continue with the show without her, saying he could head a series named ‘Dan’s & Roger’s Pennine Adventure’.
The hose apparently had an impact on the presenter, as he informed Helen, ‘I didn’t think I’d feel this way about Roger. I might actually be in love with him.’
Helen, 40, was caught off guard and turned to the cameras, looking astonished at the admission, just as the credits began to roll.
The Countryfile broadcaster legally divorced her ex Richie Myler earlier this week, after they announced their split 16 months ago.
Helen and the England and Leeds Rhinos rugby player, 33, divorced last year after a decade of marriage.
Following their divorce, he had a child with his new girlfriend, Stephanie Thirkill, 32, the daughter of his club’s president.
